It's not advised that you try to change the date between 22:00 and 2:00 or you may damage your watch. - Calibre Zenith El Primero (COSC): changes instantly at 0:03 - Calubre Rolex 3135: changes instantly at 0:04 If your watch was always 5 minutes late in time keeping, it wouldn’t be very impressive despite the lack of electricity and mechanical nature. I have personally never heard of a QUARTZ watch breaking because of date change at certain time. Now, the manual does say that if one sets the date at these times, it MAY not change the next day, but not cause adverse issue long term. I did a bit of research online and figured that the problem might have occurred when I was adjusting my time counter-clockwise around midnight yesterday and that kind of messed with the movement a bit.
